Beauty Beat - Skin Care

Hello Beauties,

I am often stopped and asked what kind of makeup products, specifically foundation, I use and people are quite surprised by my response that my favorite everyday foundation is a drug store brand.  It seems that the expected response would be that of a high-end brand, considering that I don't think my makeup is that flat out flawless as I really would like it to be.  In my opinion,  a healthy skincare regimen is crucial and should be the first thing to worry about before applying any makeup.   I am definitely not an expert and what works for me may not work for you, however, I would like to share with you the products I use and how I use them in my everyday skincare routine

Lets start with the products:

Products: Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser/Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleanser/ Dickinson  Oil Controlling astringent/ Freeman Facial Clay Mask w/ Avocado & Oatmeal/ Cetaphil Daily Facial  Moisturizer  w/ SPF 15/Pond's Dry Skin Facial Moisturizer/Huggies Baby Wipes/Up & Up Eye Makeup remover.

Before I begin the process of cleansing my face, I first remove my makeup with baby wipes .  There are different brands of makeup removing wipes, but I prefer using baby wipes because it is inexpensive and is not harsh on the skin.  Of course, if it is good for babies' delicate skin, it is good for you and I.  I remove my eye make up with Target's Up & Up eye makeup remover.  The Target Up & Up eye makeup remover is compared to the Neutrogena Oil-Free  Eye Makeup remover.  This product is amazing being that it is a store brand.  It completely removes the eye makeup with one swipe.  It works great and it only cost about $4.00.

I use three different products when it come to cleansing my face.  The Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser is used as my daily facial wash.  It is very gentle and mild on the skin and removes the dirt without over drying.   The Cetaphil brand also has body washes & lotions that are great for sensitive, dry skin. Both of my kids have dry skin and the pediatrician recommends this product for them.   The Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleanser is used twice a week as my deep cleansing wash.  It is amazing at cleaning deeply into the pores and improving  your skin's overall appearance.  I use this product with the Face Secrets Cleansing Brush. I do own the Oil of Olay Pro Advanced cleansing system, however, I prefer using the Face Secrets cleansing brush because I can control how firm I press against my face.  Once a week, I give myself a mini-facial using the Freeman's facial clay mask.  This product helps removes excess dirt build up and leaves your skin INCREDIBLY soft.

After the face is thoroughly clean, I follow up with a toner to remove any excess dirt left behind.  My choice of toner is the Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel Oil Controlling Astringent.  This product" fights blemishes, cleans deep, will not dry, eliminates shine, and is 100% natural".  I love this product because it does exactly what it says.  It feels very smooth and does not irritate my skin.  If you keep a bottle of witch hazel in the house, it works great as a toner as well.   Lastly, I apply a facial moisturizer.  For my day time moisturizer, I use the Cetaphil  Daily Facial Moisturizer with SPF 15. This moisturizer is the best moisturizer with sunscreen by far that I have used because it is very light and not super greasy, but gives the right amount of protection from the sun.  As a night time moisturizer, I use the Pond's Dry Skin Cream.  Pond's  product line has been around for years, but I just recently realized what great products it has.  This facial cream works really well with my dry skin. It is very hydrating and it is not greasy.  As you can tell, I absolutely HATE products on my face that is super greasy.  It just feels very heavy and uncomfortable.

In a nutshell, this is my everyday skincare routine and I hope that this information was helpful to you all.  Please comment below with your everyday skincare regimen.  I would love to hear from you.

Thanks as always for stopping by.  It is GREATLY appreciated!

Smooches,

Te'Rea
